Invasive grasses in the ACT and NSW Southern Tablelands sightings

Posted by Steve818

This collection is primarily for sightings of invasive grasses with NatureMapr weed ratings of medium or high.

NSW WeedWise also has a very useful interactive 3D image of some of the invasive grasses. For example, African lovegrass https://skfb.ly/oJBCZ

Invasive grasses are a major threat to the biodiversity of native grassy ecosystems, and some increase fire danger, e.g. African lovegrass. They can also reduce the carrying capacity of grazing land, e.g. serrated tussock.

Species to date in the collection: African lovegrass, Chilean needlegrass, serrated tussock, Spiny burr grass, fountain grass, African feather grass, pink Pampas grass, Mexican feather grass, Coolatai grass, whisky grass, feathertop, and Chinese fairy grass.
