Jon this is the second winter photo of a winged coconut ant is this usual timing for elate emergence or is something else going on?

It seems pretty cold to be sending out your would-be queens, but I think that they are probably just being opportunistic - after a long dry autumn they may just take advantage of any opportunity that presents itself. Good to have the records, though - we'll wait and see what happens next year. Jon
