Significant sighting

MichaelMulvaney noted:

1 Jul 2018

One of the few sightings of this ant north of the lake. I would appreciate any further sightings as I will shortly be engaging a butterfly expert to check these nests for signs of the Small Ant Blue. Canberra Nature Park contains the only known current breeding colony of this species , anywhere.

User's notes

Not far from previous sighting, but this time tunnel is in the bark of a living stringybark, rather than a smooth-barked species. Crushed ant smelled of coconut.
