Identification history

Orchid Oligochaetochilus aciculiformis 17 Jun 2018 CathB

Author's notes

This plant was dug up (probably by choughs) in early May, and the leaves scattered. These detached leaves still look fresh more than a month later.

Does that mean it survived? :O
Or does it mean they just have a long shelf life? -_-

The latter, unfortunately - those leaves were all detached and scattered about. However, I did re-bury the base of the stem that can be seen in the second image of the 5 May sighting on the timeline, just in case it was able to re-establish a connection with its fungus and continue to grow.
