This sighting represents a very significant colony of ~138 healthy Canberra Spider Orchids (confirmed by a formal count performed by the ACT Government's Emma Cook and Greg Baines). ACT CPR were notified and a formal management plan is being pursued which may include cages/fences etc.

Hi Emma, Thanks for the note - that's awesome news! I can't believe there ended up being that many, huge effort from you and Greg... We should make your sighting the official "significant sighting" for this population so that it gets flagged. Also these are very nice, clear photos.. Cheers Aaron.

It was very exciting, we couldn't believe how far they were spread once we pushed out looking for more suitable habitat. You did so well to spot them in the first place, cryptic little fellows that they are! Such an important find for this species.
