A colony of three Hyacinth orchids at Aranda. In an area pointed out to me by Ian Falconer. I believe these are from the colony that was photographed for the book "Our Patch."

Dipodium often turn up in gardens. I photographed some D. punctatum last year growing in the front yard of a house in Duffy. This species probably is D. roseum, but need to see a flower.

I wish I had Dipodium in my garden... I will get photos when they flower and drop a comment here to update the species.

These plants were knocked over before the flowers had a chance to open, so I have added pictures of the same colony taken in 2010.

At what point were they knocked over? I last visited them on the weekend. Three were approaching flowering and two had been chewed.

I found them yesterday with the cage lying beside a single remaining broken stalk.

Dear me. I obviously didn't secure the cage well enough. Hopefully they will be able to grow next year. There are probably more hidden elsewhere in the bush.
