Chrysolopus detritus (Detritus weevil)

Curculionidae: Cyclominae: Aterpini

A relative of the much better known Botany Bay Weevil, Chrysolopus spectabilis, being the only other species in the genus. It is restricted in its distribution and uncommon. Compared to the BB weevil, it is more elongate, has coarser surface sculpture and has fewer blue-green scales.
