Cyrotyphus blandus (Belid weevil)

A brown weevil about 12-15mm long, of oblong form and more robust than the more familiar Rhinotia of the same family, Belidae. It has a rough surface with lengthwise ridges on the pronotum and elytra, and whitish markings on the elytra and underside.

It has been reared from a larva found boring in a fallen eucalypt in the Brindabella Range and has also been collected at Oakey Creek in the ACT.
