Chilean Needle Grass sprayed with Glyphosate, 25 May 2025 and mapped with Field Maps Treated weeds. Recorded and reported over the past decade; for instance see most recently https://canberra.naturemapr.org/sightings/4663381 and a year ago https://canberra.naturemapr.org/sightings/4566349. I gave up hope that CNG will be treated (despite being a declared WoNS & one of ACT highest environmental risk weeds that transforms native grassy woodland into a CNG woodland); I began treatment to stop further spread as it threatens nearby grassy woodland conservation values as well as the rehabilitation work by FoMM volunteers carried out nearby at the drainage line. Photo 2 shows some of the dead CNG; Photo 3 shows long leaves of dead grass (top) and cut dead grass (bottom); Photo 4 shows some of the dead and cut CNG covered with a layer of wood chips to suppress germination of CNG seeds (front) and (still) uncovered dead grass the visible in the back. I took photos 2-4 on the 20 July 2025 after a FoMM working party to deep-mulch treated CNG; for further info visit https://majura.org/chilean-needle-grass-a-weed-of-national-significance/.
