I'm having trouble deciding if this is Macrobathra bigerella or Macrobathra baliomitra. They are quite similar and I'm not convinced that some have not been misidentified before. How do you differentiate between them?

Good point. I find it difficult see a clear rationale to separate them, partocularly on iNaturalist, however either species are quite disctinct to others in the Macobathra genus.
