I saw these plants in attractive flower late Sep (photo 1) but did not recognise the species. I took a specimen to Greening Australia, Aranda and NickiTaws IDed it as most likely A lanigera. She had been part of the GA team engaged by actgov in replanting of the understorey of the nature reserve around this locality. She recalls that A lanigera was amongst the species used in the 90s(?) but is not cultivated for local revegetation any more. Other species planted at the same time were Acacia rubida and Acacia pravissima. These were arranged in patches of single species and all have grown well over the decades and provide great small bird shelter. I revisited these small shrubs again in early Oct (photo 2 and 3) and the flowers had started to dry but their simple globular character sitting in the axils of simple leaves with parallel veins fitted well with Nicki's suggestion. My final pic is from Nov 25 when the woolly character of the pods confirmed without doubt that Nicki's ID was spot on. Coincidentally there was a new sighting from sangio7 nearby earlier that same day https://canberra.naturemapr.org/sightings/4621358
