New site last season (see record 4545100), same sapling again. In fact, last years hatched eggs still visible above new eggs (second photo). Also, more eggs (9) on adjacent sapling this time.

Yes that was our experience at Wanniassa this year so we had broadened our search. The key is looking for c ants accumulating generally below 1 metre. Usually around lerps etc but occasionally fresh eggs. Using head torch also helps.
