User's notes

Seven males and one female in a blue gum. The last photo shows the female and one of the males at a hollow, where yesterday I saw two males, and another nearby. On both days the males were engaged in varying degrees of squabbling/sparring accompanied by much growling. One lot flew off to the NE leaving three males who did a bit more sparring before flying off too. A short time later I found 3 males and a female in an old stump (where I had seen Baldy once last year, sighting 4465265). Possibly part of the same group.

Thanks Cath - will be good to get the DNA results from the feather collection to see if groups like this are of related birds . We know Baldy and Mrs Baldy have had 3 boys and one girl in the last three years.

Cheers Michael

Are more feathers needed for the study, or is it now closed?

More feathers are wanted but I think more so from outside of the ACT. I understand that there was good return in terms of retrievable DNA from the feathers submitted
