These are some of the Slender Speargrasses that a contractor sprayed on the 21 March 2024; the target species should have been Serrated tussock. FoMM worked over a decade to improve the 10ha Fair site (see https://majura.org/progress-the-fair/); all native plants and seeds were bought from funds that FoMM negotiated with the developer of The Fair. FoMM began control of Serrated Tussock in 2022 after many years of unsuccessful lobbying the land manger to control this Weed of National Significance. FoMM reported control work of Serrated tussock to the land manger and mapped treated and untreated Serrated tussocks with Field Maps and recorded on CNM. FoMM was not informed about the contractor work at the Fair. Nor did FoMM receive any apologies for the damage. Nor was there a response when FoMM requested an on site meeting. This is the second time a native grass was sprayed by a different contractor at a different site in winter 2022.
