In grassy woodland. Over decades a local resident spread CNG clippings in the reserve after mowing a strip behind his and his neighbours backyards. Reported to PCS 100 times. There are ideal conditions for CNG along drainage line and it has been spreading fast over the past LaNina years. Mapped many times by various FoMM members but it seems volunteers are not taken serious. I suggested a number of management actions over the past decades 1.) Land manager requests resident to discontinue spreading CNG clippings in the reserve; 2.) monitor before and after treatment; 3.) spray with flupropanate starting up-slope and in high traffic area; 4.) spread mulch in selected sites to suppress immediate germination which occurs over most of the year given the beneficial growing conditions; 5.) direct-seed / plant native ground cover including "aggressive" species such as Carex appressa for competition; 6.) time the slashing of the 50m wide outer asset protection zone to avoid slashing at peak seeding in summers as it happened in the past seasons - in other words: the land manager helped CNG to spread much quicker and wider than the already high "natural invasion rate".
