Although M. leachella is also a leaf cutter in the subgenus M. (Eutricharaea), it is a European species that is not known to be in Australia. Very few of our bee species occur outside this country and while Megachile (Eutricharaea) rotundata was introduced as a potential pollinator of lucerne it does not appear to have become widely established.

Great shot!. Note yellow pollen grains on tip of abdomen, hind legs and forehead. Do you have an ID for the flower, a Brachyscome?
