Not confident with this one: other opinions welcomed.
Tussocks to 1.4 m., culms a mid bright-ish green, culm diameter estimated to be 5-6 mm, pith spongey (not solidly continuous and not interrupted). Cataphylls, appressed estimated about 20 cm long. Capsules and tepals similar lengths.
No this isn't Juncus vaginatus, or at least the infloresence in the first two photos aren't. It does looks likes there might be spent infloresence of that species in the bottom of the frame however. Assuming the infloresence and pith etc. are from the same plant, then this is one of the "large-flowered" group. I reckon there are three possibilities, Juncus continuus, Juncus flavidus & Juncus sarophorus. In my view Juncus continuus is probably the strongest possibility.
Followed up your suggestions, and Juncus continuus is best fit, so am making that suggestion. Several characteristics do not match for J. sarophorus (culm firmness, culm colour, type of pith, description of cataphylls ...) and few don't match for Juncus flavidus (culm firmness, pith character). J flavidus
