In this photo I am not clear which is an animal and which is vegetation.
I not know any lepidoptera larvae that have 24 pairs of legs.

What to do with inconclusive observations which may be inconclusive, but don't necessarily justify rejection?

@MichaelMulvaney @donhe i think they were rows of eggs, laid only on the tips of these gum twigs.

Ian Just let them sit in unidentified with your best suggestion

Are they eggs? If so, break off the twig and keep it ina bottle and see what hatches.

@donhe @MichaelMulvaney I found some more and broke off the twig. They’re in a clean plastic storage bottle with muslin for a lid. They’re in a sunny spot outside so fingers crossed they hatch!

Terrific. Please take their actual portrait before, and after, hatching . Can you do close-ups/macro?

@donhe will do. I’ve got some better shots of eggs now.
