Perhaps it is Eucalyptus gregsoniana, (dwarf snow gum). The nuts and buds look similar as do the leaves, and it has been planted as a street tree in conder. Only thing, is that E.gregsoniana is supposed to be a mallee, though it can reach heights of 5/6 metres, general shot would be great :)
Thanks Ciaran. I don't think it is a mallee, since it is taller with a single large trunk. I planted the tree myself, bought from a nursery, but a long time ago. Will endeavour to get another pic.
According to Brooket & Kleinig, racemosa (which I had not heard of) = sclerophylla, the coastal scribbly gum. In Costermans the two species are separate. So the trunk should have scribbles. Very close to our own rossii and to haemastoma, all difficult to tell apart. Obliqueness of leaf not mentioned although rossii not oblique..
I worked my way through CSIRO lucid Eucalyptus keyhttps://apps.lucidcentral.org/euclid/identify/key.html where on bud, fruit and stem characters I got down to ten species including racemosa and gregsoniana and the base of the leaf was the defining character.
