Seeing these three warmed my heart - two parents and a young female, three days post fledging. (We believe she flew the nest on Thursday morning). We'd noticed the gentle chatting of gang gangs in the area close to the hollow a couple of days after fledging. This afternoon I walked under a tree close-ish to the hollow, and heard a soft discussion above. The parents flew to another tree, leaving their young one on a relatively thin branch. She spread her wings often as she sought to balance. The male flew back to her, landed on a branch nearby, then quickly moved to her and fed, before flying to his previous nearby tree. The adults then flew off, leaving the young one to hone her perching skills. I did not wait for their return.
Something from under a branch. Watched the male tear at the bark under the branch, then eat, then go back to under the branch. I am assuming it was something meaty? What is Gang-gang eating
