I have no idea how to identify this spider other than match it to the CNM database, and it looks like yorkmainorum to me, but will_austin from iNaturalist reckons its Sutherlands Funnelweb spider (Atrax sutherlandi) which he says is incredibly common in Tallaganda. https://markklwong.weebly.com/uploads/1/0/1/0/101072238/aws_2015.pdf I cant find anything concrete but after searching the internet I think there is a fair likelyhood this sighting is Sutherlands.
This spider has been identified on iNaturalist as Atrax sutherlandi, and studies from Tallanganda NP and state forest seems to suggest this is the most likely species.
Hi Trevor, Will Austin is very experienced with Atracidae, so if he has identified it as such, I'd be confident in the accuracy of the ID. However, I can also confirm with other people I know that are knowledgeable with Mygalamorphs if you like?
thanks woyapp. I would appreciate that, this and a few other Mygalamorphs have been a long time getting an identity, although I appreciate with some sightings it may be impossible to identify down to species. I don't know if it was Will that identified it on iNaturalist.
