I’ve seen quite a few of these randomly dispersed around Mt Jerrabomberra reserve. They seem out of place, possibly a weed spread by birds?

Pretty sure this is a plum species, possibly Prunus spinosa. Definitely an exotic. If it is bird dispersed then you should find it amongst other Bird-shit flora, such as Cotoneasters, Hawthorns, Nettle Tree and Firethorns forming "halos" under bigger trees or other perches
