I'm unsure this M. baliomitra. There is less white in its markings overall and they are in separated bands whereas that species shows the white meeting along the 'spine' in the dorsal view.

Having a close look at the many Macrobthra spp. with photos on Bold Systems 4, I thought, of the named species this looked most like M. melanomitra (SA). Of several similar un-named Macrobathra spp. perhaps ANIC 9 or ANIC 19 were the most similar,

Thanks Ian The pattern of the Macrobthra melanomitra on the single example on ALA looks good, but the thing that stood out by eye on mine was the singular lack of any colour - just black and white. Of course the yellowish colour on ALA might be the camera's doing :)

Yes, but I think there is a hint of yellow on M. melanomitra in the photographed Bold Systems 4 photos, which I think counts against this being. M. melanomitra.
