Dodgy photos but just curious about the light feathers on the upper side of the wing. It glided directly over the top of me (no camera at the time, doh!) and appeared to have the sort of speckled-y ness of a juvenile and from the photos appears to have rounded tail tip so seems to be a brown goshawk. But yeah, I can't seem to find any photos or description that would indicate they can have the white (primary coverts?) so just want to confirm that it is a brown goshawk - if the photos are good enough. Thanks.

Thanks for the sighting. Unfortunately the photos aren't good enough to confirm the ID as Brown Goshawk. By the shape in the second photo I can see that the head seems to protrude from the wrists (an indicator of Brown Goshawk) but the angle makes it difficult to be certain. Regarding the white on the wings, it could be an indicator of a juvenile bird as the full brown doesn't usually come through until after the first year.
