User's notes

The second and third images are of a second individual. There were four individuals on four separate flowering St John's Wort. There seemed to be some damage to the St John's Wort plants. Is an example of biological control? I subsequently checked over a dozen flowering St John's Wort without again seeing any beetles. When disturbed, individuals would let go and fall to the ground.

Yes this beetle is a biological control agent - not that effective

I pulled out 4 plants of this today up at Piney Ridge. Will look out for beetles next time.
