This crayfish is rarely observed and is at its northern limit in the ACT. This is a new general location for this species. We would very much appreciate any further sightings

Found in the gibraltar forest while laying dog baits

did you dig it out or was it out and about? we only have a few records of these in parts of the ACT but are suspected of being wide spread.

Are they usually in wet areas like other crayfish?

These can be a long way from water. All the way up the hillsides and rarely come above ground. They have been recorded from condor creek area and Farrer
Ridge.
