I was curious that the spaces between twigs on this specimen seemed to be filled with leaf material rather than twigs like other case moths like this that I have seen.
The spaced twigs are normally characteristic of Metura elongatus, but the pattern on the head and thorax of this specimen are totally different to those of M. elongatus, so it is not that either. The pattern is more like that of Hyalarcta and Clania species. Alison: did you take it into protective custody?
