User's notes

This ant stumbled into an antlion's pit while I was photographing it. It struggled for a minute or so then became still. When I fished it out, it was limp, apparently paralysed. I have since learnt that antlion larvae have symbiotic bacteria in their saliva that produce a paralysing toxin. I never actually saw the antlion.
