It is often possible to identify skin sloughs to species. This sloughed skin was found at a known D. impar location. However in this case location may not be able to assist with separating Delma inornata from the suggested species D. impar as both species occur in the Gungahlin region. Both species overlap in mid-body scale row counts (D. impar 13-16 and D. inornata 11-16). A prenasal suture is present in D. inornata and not in D. impar which has fused nasal and supralabial; it would be helpful to examine the skin with that in mind. What would be needed is for some one to carefully collect the skin slough and making sure the head is collected as well. The skin can then be carefully floated in warm water before close examination with the help of a hand lens.
