A yawning snake? The snake was seen to do this twice over a period of about 5 minutes.

A great series of photographs - well done. One possible reason for "yawning" in snakes is that they sometimes need to re-articulate their lower jaw bones following the capture and swallowing of a large prey item. WillO.
