In the Canberra area, it is out of season for Acacia implexa (too late) and Acacia melanoxylon (too early). Perhaps wait till it has ripe seed. Arils (funicles) on A. implexa are white with a few folds at one end. Those on A. melanoxylon are pink to red, folded twice around the seed. The characters I can see in this photo do not differentiate between these two species.

Acacia implexa flowers in late summer and could be still in flower with the mild weather we have had this year.

This is an old photo taken on 30 August 2014 so most likely A. melanoxylon
