Overview

Natural creek line after Lake Tuggeranong Weir. Divides Urambi Hills Nature Reserve and Murrumbidgee River Corridor on eastern bank of Murrumbidgee River. Access: Dirt access road south off Learmonth Dr Kambah to PCS gate. 5 min walk to creek along fire trail. Land Use: Part of Canberra Nature Park. Recreation. Walking. Cycling. No public vehicle access. Habitat: Rocky bottom ephemeral creek. Site is immediately downstream of Lake Tuggeranong. Water is affected by urban inflows, often with high turbidity, nutrients and persistent high algae levels. Canopy is mature Casuarinas with grass ground cover. Lots of blackberries and stands of briar thickets. Population of Wombats, Kangaroos, eastern long necked turtles, rabbits and foxes all observed.
