Bluetts Block nocturnal survey 2023

Posted by MatthewFrawley

 22 Jan 2023

In a repeat of the first nocturnal survey undertaken last year, we will return to Bluetts Block after dark to see what critters we can find.

The first survey added new species to the database for Bluetts Block and the hope is that we can add more again this year.  The walk will be conducted in the first half of February.  If you are interested in attending, please direct message @MatthewFrawley or comment on this announcement.  Participation will be limited to 10 people.

Bluetts Block contains an amazing diversity of wildlife but is under increasing threat from encroaching urban sprawl.  For a full list of current sightings submitted for Bluetts Block see this map: https://canberra.naturemapr.org/locations/sightings/11925

I am interested, depending on the date and timing of the walk (and whether you can walk without being hit by a spider web everywhere, as found in part of the woody area the other week.)
