The fruitbody is a mushroom, with a cap atop a central stem. The cap is dry, smooth and yellow and may reach a diameter of 3 centimetres. The stem is very short, with the cap only a little above the ground and often hidden in leaf and twig litter. There is a densely cobwebby partial veil, much of which persists in the mature fruitbody.
