part of garden extension at 83 Rivett Street; the government Yarralumla nursery recommends to grow ornamental fruit trees (prunus sp) for gardens because they are tough. In its pamphlet 'Deciduous trees for Canberra Gardens' it states: "Prunus species.... Some varieties can produce ornamental fruit."
Well yes, this variety produces ornamental fruits and, unfortunately, also ornamental invaders! Volunteers regularly remove the ornamental invaders from the nature reserve.
