Suggest the survival of this species at this location is now in some doubt. After a very reduced 2023 flying season (half of that recorded for years 2020-2022 incl.), 2024 has been very disappointing with only the one brief sighting (Sept 10, main image) in over 30 intensive searches of the area. Also worth mentioning is that until recently the larval food plant for this butterfly, Austrostipa scabra, was the predominate vegetation in the general area and while still plentiful is now being overgrown by St John's Wort and, to a lesser extent Cassinia quinquefaria (see image 2).
