I kinda wonder about this being D.reflexum? The sinus is quite broader (lacking the narrow notch of D.ampliatum) and the flowers don't seem overly top heavy (which also points away from ampliatum). Matt knows the two better than I do, so let's see what he says.

Yes both are in that area.

It does look a little too plump for D. ampliatum so I would be happier to call this D. reflexum. In saying that I could still be convinced otherwise. I had a look at the nearby sighting and the plants look somewhat intermediate.

Actually I see D. revolutum is nearby not reflexum. A nice find, thanks guys!

Bethany overall flower size might help with D. ampliatum larger, but exactly how this has been measure is not so clear. I know Rob is familiar with both species, but it is never easy just from a photo particularly as the dorsal sepal point has been damaged or gone.

D. revolutum was the previous nomenclature which was changed to D. ampliatum but now we are also finding the similar D. reflexum.

I had seen that RangerStacey's sighting (4258627) was virtually on the same location as this sighting and that Peter Ramshaw's sighting (4259248) was just across the track and their sightings were of D. ampliatum. As Derek points out, the condition of the flower, especially the damaged dorsal sepal point, combined with the previous sightings in the area pushed me in favour of D. ampliatum. However, it does resemble D. reflexum :)

Fair enough, I hadn’t noticed the previous records at this site. They do all seem to look similar, perhaps the same colony. However, I wonder if all 3 sightings actually represent D.reflexum? Plants are showing bottom heavy flowers with a broad sinus which should indicate us away from ampliata
