Late yesterday afternoon, I was treated to the sight of two adults and I assume a young female - a family I had not seen previously. The young bird was frisky, and I will never forget her agile flight through the blue gums, weaving and winding, close to the ground (well, just above my height), gliding quickly and silently.
Then, around 4.30 this afternoon, I followed the loud sound of something being crunched. There I saw a young female gang gang stripping bark from a tree, before bunching tightly together with two other females, where they groomed each other intensely. One occasionally nibbled at her feet. A male was off to the side initially, came in to groom, then moved away again - I think it all got a bit much for him, as he closed his eyes for a while. I believe this may have been the same family as yesterday, but with a newly fledged sister (the one cleaning her feet). The young ones were very active and playful, and I was fortunate to see much wing spreading and cheekiness amongst the two young ones, with mum occasionally participating.
