prominent golden marking extending dorsolaterally across the whole body, plain golden dorsal surface as well as a stockier build I would suggest this to be E. quoyii. Additionally being east of Nerriga in Morton national park, this is generally where E. quoyyi begin in this part of their range.

I agree Brian, and I have seen quoyii at Barren Grounds. You note a plain dorsum but this individual does have black flecks on the dorsum. Even so, a plain dorsal surface is not necessarily typical of quoyii - e.g. see photo at page 161 of Swan, Sadlier and Shea Description: "golden olive brown above , usually weakly to heavily flecked with black". See also description and photo in Cogger. Yes quoyii are larger lizards (can be 2 cm longer in SVL) but I think this individual appears to be "stocky" because it is gravid. The lack of black markings on the side of the head between eye and ear might be more diagnostic.
