@SteveBorkowskis could you describe the habitat you were walking through? The reason I ask is that R.acrophilus is highly restricted and confined to rocky feldmarks, see habitat in these shots Ranunculus acrophilus (Feldmark Buttercup)

The similar looking R.muelleri (they are nearly identical), is more widspread and will occur in grassier swamps, herbfield and along creek margins. I would be inclined to tend toward this ID given the length the petioles, but will await your comments regarding the habitat.

Hi Ciaran, it was a fairly exposed ridgeline, roughly 50% vegetation and 50% exposed rock/gravel. I have a short video on my phone where I pan around at the location, I could sent it to you if that would help.
