@bridgetlunn This is fascinating because the right side face markings looks like goanna Robin, who was photographed mating with male Rambo last summer. So it is almost 100% certain that Robin is female. (We have never captured Robin, except in camera 'traps', nor even seen her, except in photos) But it is unusual for a female to be exposed out in the open like this. Males do this. Did the goanna wait around on the road until you got close or run away when it saw you?

@DonFletcher thats really interesting! I’ve sent you a message on Facebook with some more details and the video I took, but in summary she was really relaxed, sat there until I got very close, then just slowly walked away and lay under a bush

Having now seen more and better photos, I think there are eight individual goannas and this is a male.
