@MattM we went looming for the location in the burn area and the record was for Bunochilus umbrinus. This certainly looks different to that original ID, I wish I took a better photo.
B. umbrinus is a taller plant with multiple flowers that are open at the front to expose the labellum. In contrast Pterostylis umbrinus is a much smaller plant with a single, nodding, flower that largely conceals the labellum. I just confirmed one of your sightings as B. umbrinus so feel free to compare the two species to see how they differ. They often grow next to each other so that may have caused some of the confusion re location.
My colleague took the photo while I was looking at the maroonhood, maybe we didn't actually locate the Bunochilus umbrinus but found two others. Yes I see there is no mistaking it even by a bad photo.
