sorry for poor quality pic, only had phone and chased the quails around like in a skit from the Benny hill show! Interestingly they didn't take to wing, preferring to scamper!
Hi @Harrisi, sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Firstly Stubbles aren't really around at this time of year, and they also tend to be either alone or in pairs rather than in coveys like brown quails (they are also easier to flush). Other than that, these quails are much more uniformly brown than a stubble, lacking the bold white streaks that are diagnostic of that species. Flanks are barred, face quite plain.
