Not sure.. but this maybe very interesting. There is a large amount of Gazania growing on the nature strip of Essie Coffey street in Bonner. There is a lot of kangaroos that to migrate through this area. Just a thought.

Common garden daisy. Seeds spread in the wind.

Yeah, I concur with Mike. I find Gazania around the place on roadside verges, urban parkland and along the edges of our nature reserves

I couldn’t see the location, but a couple of km is only a few minutes blowing in the wind.

Firstly, how far does Gazania seed get spread by wind? then if you are using the wind dispersed method for this sighting. The prevailing wind will fail if the main source of infestation is at Bonner

Gazania is a declared plant (weed) in South Australia. For example see https://cdn.environment.sa.gov.au/landscape/docs/hf/gazania-weed-management-fact-sheet.pdf which says it is spread by wind and also by vehicles or garden waste. A southerly wind could carry it from Bonner. Check some of the old flowerheads in Bonner and you should see the seeds (strictly speaking achenes with two or three seeds) with fluff (pappus) like short thistle down that catches the wind. The location of your sighting has had a lot of vehicle movement in the past.
