I counted around 18-20 Swift Parrots on Sunday, 12 Monday and around 6 Tuesday 16/05 all behind the Hackett houses in the strip of trees restricted by the high tension power lines.All were furiously feeding on lerps while intermittently being harassed by noisy miners

Aha - I saw a couple of parrots that didn't look like the normal ones in the backyard a few days ago, we live right near there so might have been one of these.

The Swift parrots might have left by now but seasons have been so unusual, so who knows? The males of Superb Parrot have a similar color scheme (my apologies to all birders) but have no red above beak and except for the head they are entirely green and bigger (38 cm) than Swift parrots (24cm). We see the Superb parrots occasionally in my garden in Selwyn Street feeding on Silverwattle seeds.
