Hmmmm, having gone through the key to Cyperaceae I agree that this is Lepidosperma, but I'm not sure about L.laterale. I think L.gunnii may be a better fit, thiking about the habitat (L.laterale is a dry forest thing), L.gunnii is also a more lithe species compared to L.laterale which has bulkier infloresence.

Thanks for the mention, sorry for being a bit inactive lately been very busy with assessment. I agree this does not look like L. laterale to me. I'm not too familiar with L. gunnii but it seems to be a good fit as far as I'm concerned.

I'm uncertain about this, but am leaning towards L. laterale, because of apparent size.
Trying to use key is hard, as just not enough info. From photo, it looks a bit tall for L. gunnii (given as 15-40 cm in PlantNet) but spikelet length about right (judging by finger). I couldn't make out if leaves are longer or shorter than culms. Some obs on culm shape would be a help.
