The local Hemiergis is now called talbingoensis. Due to a recent revision, decresiensis, which once included our local form, is now confined to SA.

John, why Talbingo?
Wikipedia: Talbingo resident Jack Bridle, whose family were early European settlers of the area, suggests the name to be a corruption of the English word "tall" and the Aboriginal words "Binji", "Binge" or "Bingo" meaning belly. Mount Talbingo resembles the big belly of a man lying down.

Following the revision, the next available name for the species found in this area was a subspecies talbingoensis described by Copland in 1964, holotype from Talbingo, NSW. If the name reflects the locality then it should end in "ensis".
