Hi Carbon Al - I can see why you thought this would be a Uperoleia leav- the frog looks so dark in colour- however the giveaway signs are
1. the large toepad (only one common frog in the Capital region has these)
2. the cross-shaped pupil
3. yellow groin- which gets yellow black striped in adults- soooo cute!!

I thought it might be a challenge because it was covered in soil and mulch. No chance of seeing any 'emerald spots'.

the emerald spots are mini tiny flecks so not too easy to see at the bestest of times- you did well getting this great shot!
