Thanks Trevor this is a really interesting sighting, the flowers look a lot like Coreopsis but the leaves look wrong for lanceolata so it could be a different species of Coreopsis or possibly Cosmos sulphureus, either way it could be something new for the ACT which is not good news.
Actually a really good suggestion, the leaves reminded me a lot of Tagetes minuta but the flowers looked very wrong, but I agree that it could well be a different species of Tagetes that I'm not familiar with. It's always hard with new incursions since it probably escaped from a garden and there are tonnes of possibilities that are not in the normal range of what I'd be thinking about when moderating local plants.
My first thought when I saw it was Tagetes, but not like any Tagetes I am familiar with. Is there any other photo that would be helpful as I have not removed it yet?
Thanks Michael, a little different to what I'm used to with that species, but I presume it can be quite variable as a garden hybrid/escapee. Thankfully not something too noxious, though Trevor it would probably be worth still removing
