The caterpillsrs of only about 7% of named Australian moth species are known. I do not recognise this one. You may need to rear it to the adult moth to identify it.
Meanwhile the caterpillars of Achaea species (Erebidae) have two red organs like this on the penultimate abdominal segment. They also have a characteristic black and white head. Can you supply a photo of the head?
